Come and Get it- Jonesborough Storytellers Guild Rummage Sale

This is the Jonesborough Storytellers official logo. The centerpiece, designed in 2005 by artist and storyteller Kathy Blair, has kept our focus on where our feet are planted - in Jonesborough, Tennessee. The new circle that frames it (thanks to musician/event promoter Eric Sommers,) reminds us that storytelling is a worldwide thing. Where we live certainly informs our stories, but that's not all there is to it - stories cannot be confined to a place, especially not in the time-honored oral tradition. They pass from person to person, wafting in the air to transform and inspire humanity to function at its best.

Report on the rummage sale: if you planned to stop by and purchase that black felt hat, forget it - that hat is long gone. Fabulous finds have come in through the doors of 107 Courthouse Square, and walked right out again all week, but there's still plenty to tantalize your want button with more coming. There's a quilt rack, a clothing stand, a collection of teapots, coffee cups (a number of which are good restaurant quality,) a charming faux Blue Willow tea set, Beanie Babies galore, a four-person tent, a fine library table which needs some work, jewelry, Christmas, Easter and Halloween items, scarves, more hats, books including Christian selections and textbooks plus a nice grouping of paperbacks and picture frames. Misprinted books by both Madelyn Rohrer and Saundra Kelley are going for only $2.00 each. This is just a small sampling of what we have to offer - don't miss this sale Saturday, May 16 in downtown Jonesborough.

Monies raised from this sale by the guild are dedicated to our Kansas City Here We Come road trip coming up July 24 - August 2.
